APALACHICOLA MAYOR VAN JOHNSON RECEIVES THE ICHANGE NATIONS GLOBAL LEADERSHIP AWARD

This infrastructure empowers and equips our citizens and alumni members with the tools needed to effectively pursue and transform the world.

The Mayor of Apalachicola, Van Johnson received the iChange Nations Global Leadership Award given by Dr. Clyde Rivers, President and Founder of iChange Nations. The ceremony was held in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in August 2014 at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library.

Dr. Rivers said, “Mayor Van Johnson is a man of integrity and honor. He shows this in his everyday life as he seeks to build others and help make positive change in the world around him. We are very proud to bestow upon him the iChange Nations Global Leadership Award.”

In Grand Rapids, Michigan, in August 2014 at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library, Mayor of Apalachicola, Florida, Van Johnson received the Golden Rule International Award. Dr. Clyde Rivers, the Director of the North American Division of the Golden Rule International, gave the award.

Dr. Rivers said, “Mayor Van Johnson has promoted a life that exemplifies the Golden Rule, ‘Treat others the way you want to be treated.’ We proudly bestow this International Goodwill Peace Ambassadorship upon Mayor Johnson for a life that is poured out to help humanity through his daily deeds and actions.”

The Golden Rule International Award is now established in 120 nations of the world. This organization seeks out top achievers that live the Golden Rule in their everyday life. This is a new global ethic that the leadership of the Golden Rule International Award, Patron, former President of Ethiopia, Girma Wolde and Ambassador Mussie Hailu has embraced and is promoting globally. Golden Rule International is also affiliated with the Interfaith Peace-Building Initiative (IPI), African Union, the United Nations as well as the United Religions Initiative (URI).
