INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN WITH A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE

 Dr. Rachael Schweiger

International humanitarian and Advisor for Burundi, Dr. Rachael Schweiger, has had a busy month. She’s been involved in various humanitarian activities in the State of Oregon including helping Horizon Christian High School athletics and student body, Esperanza Iglesia en Cristo Church’s cross cultural out-reach program, and Sisters 4 Survivors, a breast cancer support group. Dr. Schweiger believes that everyone has value. The unfortunate thing is that not everyone in the world has equal opportunity but in God everyone has equality. Dr. Schweiger said, “I truly want to see people reach their God-given purpose and potential.” To help reach this end, she has also mentored Young Ambassadors who bring projects to Africa, and partnered with a local elementary school to raise funds to support a partner school in Burundi. She had also written peace keeping curriculum and taught it globally. A Burundi representative at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, Professor Clyde Rivers, commented, “This is the kind of heart we need if we are going to change the world, the heart of a true humanitarian such as Dr. Schweiger.”
