Buntu Foundation Giving Practical Skills Training

The First Lady of Burundi, Denise Nkurunziza

The First Lady of Burundi, Denise Nkurunziza has a true understanding of what it takes to develop a people to run a country at a practical level.  Her project of the Buntu foundation is truly amazing. She has created a place of practical job training and skill development for the people of Burundi. The training Centre of the Buntu Foundation is like a college, but it is for skill development. Prof. Clyde Rivers said after a visit to the site. “I'm very
encouraged with the future of Burundi”. When you see a people obtaining skills in practical life task you know the future will be sustainable for that nation".

The Buntu Project is more than education it is life skills training which is one of the lost arts around the world. This is the most important education in a developing a nation, giving people skills that provide an income so they can live.

The nation of Burundi is a model of training people to work.
Every Saturday morning the Republic of Burundi has community work day from 9 to 11. Every Burundian is building something positive in their community. This day has created a spirit of self-ownership for every Burundian citizen. It is designed to help them take stake in the building of the future of their country. If they build it then they will never take it down. That's the new ownership model in Burundi, Africa.
