In
January 2016 the Youth Add Value™ Initiative in conjunction with IChange
Nations™ organized and launched the first event of its kind in Newport Oregon “Youth
Give Back.” Loretta Hoagland was one of several presented with the IChange
Nations™ Community Ambassador Award. It was with great pleasure that IChange Nation’s™,
Founder and President, Amb. Clyde Rivers in conjunction with Youth Add Value™
Initiative was able to present this well deserved Award to Loretta Hoagland.
Loretta has lived in several regions of the world. On one of her life's assignments she engaged in teaching English in Thailand to refugees fleeing the "killing fields" who had been accepted by a third country. She told us, "The Vietnamese, Cambodians and Laos are traditionally enemies and demanded separate classes. I refused to comply. What I learned and what I believe they learned was that when we work together we begin to like and appreciate each other as people and not as "the enemy." On another occasion while living in Depot Bay OR, Mrs. Hoagland was so grieved by watching the young people of her community engage in the drug culture after school she set out to make a change and help these youth. She started an after school program that engage the whole community and was such a great success that the publicity drove out the drug dealers. This is only a portion of what this new IChange Nations™ Community Ambassador has accomplished in her life. Ambassador Rivers commented, "She truly values all life and has lived her life to help mankind. We are proud to call her a Community Ambassador and welcome her to our IChange Nations™ global family."
