In January 2016 the Youth Add Value™ Initiative in conjunction with IChange Nations™ organized and launched the first event of its kind in Newport Oregon “Youth Give Back.” Loretta Hoagland received the Golden Rule International Award. Amb. Clyde Rivers presented this well deserved Award to Loretta Hoagland.  The motto of the Golden Rule International Award is, “Treat others the way you want to be treated” and Loretta Hoagland’s life as exemplified this life style.

Mrs. Hoagland has lived in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and England as well as several major cities in the United States. She volunteered heavily wherever there was a need, whether in the schools, hospitals, the Boy Scouts or refugee camps. In Thailand she taught English to refugees fleeing the "Killing Fields." She has done her share of community service in her current Depot Bay community, helping youth at risk by creating after school programs. Ambassador Rivers said, "It is such an honor to have the privilege of bringing recognition to individuals like Loretta Hoagland. She is truly an Ambassador, living the Golden Rule. Thank you Mrs. Hoagland and welcome to our global family."

Ambassador Rivers’ message at this event was a change of conversation. He spoke of the worlds need to value the gifts from God in every individual. He stated, “We lose everything when a person looses his or her life. It’s a tragic lose for the world and we suffer the lack of that contribution. That gift will never enter into our existence. We must work to preserve every individual in the world because their gifts are necessary for our world to develop and be great.”
