DR. CLYDE RIVERS RIDES THE FINAL MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. FREEDOM TRAIN EXCURSION IN 2015

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 19, 2015, thousands of people from different ethnic groups and cultures assembled in San Francisco, CA. to keep the dream alive.

Ambassador Rivers was at this event and was quoted saying, “Watching the young, old, and every nationality and race all marching together for peace and civil rights was a great day in the United States. We have more things that unite us than divide us. This march exemplifies this point. To see the kindness and generosity of all the different people marching showed me that the Golden Rule, ‘Treat other the way you want to be treated,’ is alive and well in the United States. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we will keep your dream alive.”

Kathleen Flynn, President of the Martin Luther King Jr. Association of Santa Clara Valley CA., received the Life of Honor Award from iChange Nations in Jan Jose, CA., January 18, 2015.

The President of iChange Nations, Dr. Clyde Rivers said, “Kathleen Flynn has fought to keep the dream alive. She works with every culture, faith and social group, empowering the world to fulfill Martin Luther King’s dream. The legacy she has left with the association is one that will never be forgotten. We chose to honor Kathleen Flynn for her selfless service to promote the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.”

Kathleen Flynn, the President of Martin Luther King Jr. Association of Santa Clarita Valley, CA, asked Dr. Clyde Rivers to speak at the Northern California Martin Luther King Day event.  The event took place in San Francisco, CA on January 19th, 2015.

The auditorium was filled to capacity as Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers addressed the audience on the importance of living the Golden Rule as a life style, “Treat others the way you want to be treated.”

Dr. Clyde Rivers commented, “It was impressive to see the diversity of cultures, races and religions honoring the cause of the famous leader, Martin Luther King Jr. It was a great honor and gives me great hope for the world, seeing all the people that still believe in peace and equity.”

FIRST LADY OF REPUBLIC OF BURUNDI AFRICA RECEIVES AWARD FROM LATIN AMERICA

On August 5, 2014 in Washington DC, the Christian Latin Business Association Humanitarian Award was presented to the First Lady of Burundi Africa, Denise Nkurunziza. The award was presented to the First Lady by Alama Vision Television personality, Celina Gonzalez. Celina Gonzalez commented, “We are honored and privileged to present the First Lady of Burundi with this prestigious award for her outstanding work to help the underprivileged of the world, as well as, the work she is doing through the Buntu Foundation in Burundi to empower women.” The Christian Latin Business Association Humanitarian Award is presented to leading humanitarians globally.


Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers said, “The First Lady of Burundi has helped and encouraged widows in her country for years. She is a leader that is doing the job of empowering women. The Buntu Foundation, lead by First Lady Denise Nkurunziza, is in the process of building a city to help the underprivileged in her country.”

In San Jose, California on October 18, 2014, Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers was surprised and honored by the presentation of the Martin Luther King Legacy of Peace Award.  The President of the Martin Luther King Foundation, of the Santa Clarita Valley, Kathleen Flynn and the Mayor of San Jose, Chuck Reed and other respected officials, presented the award to Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers.

The Martin Luther King Foundation has been active in the Santa Clarita Valley for well over 30 years. Every year this organization chooses to honor the top mountain movers whose lives are representative of the great work Dr. Martin Luther King accomplished in his life, Civil Rights Laws in the United States of America. Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers said, “I’m very humbled by the Legacy of Peace Award from the pioneer of peace, Dr. Martin Luther King through this prestigious foundation.”


There is great work being accomplished by Ambassador Rivers and the Interfaith Peace-Building Initiative, Golden Rule International Award, as well as Dr. Clyde Rivers’ organization, iChange Nations. Together they are in over 120 nations of the world proclaiming the Golden Rule, “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers went on the say, “I believe this Global Ethic can change the world. The work of iChange Nations, dedicated to bringing back the lost art of honor around the world, along with the Golden Rule International Award, are the key to global transformation - working to keep peace alive.”

It seems appropriate that Ambassador Rivers would be a part of the gathering of both national leaders and more than 130 representatives of other nations seeking to build and strengthen international ties through spirituality, love of God, and care for each other.  Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers said, “It is indeed a great honor to receive this invitation and I look forward to making great connections with others from around the world.”
